Three Mitchell teams end in third place in the youth baseball tournament in class A – Mitchell Republic

MITCHELL – A number of youth baseball teams based in Mitchell have targeted a class A state -of -the -art title of southern Dakota this weekend at Cadwell Sports Complex in Mitchell.

Of the 60 total competition teams in six state slices, three Mitchell teams finished third in their respective divisions.

The Mitchell Sliders were 3-0 in the swimming pool in the sixth year Division, including a 13-7 victory against Aberdeen Smittys Gray on Friday 3-2 against Brandon Valley White and a 16-1 victory against the Yankton Heat on Saturday. The Sliders took the lead n ° 2 in the Sunday semi-finals and faced BrooKings Black. BrooKings had the upper hand on Sunday, winning a 12-2 victory against the Sliders to leave the Mitchell team with third place.

In the lower fifth year division, the Mitchell Maize had a 6-5 defeat against the Cubs of Sioux Falls before rebounding with a 5-3 victory against Harrisburg on Friday and a 6-4 victory against tea on Saturday. They won the seeded n ° 3 in the four-team championship tranche and faced Harrisburg in the semi-finals on Sunday. Harrisburg won the semi-final match 14-9 to leave the corn claiming third place.

The Mitchell Maize team in the third year’s lower division also finished third in its tranche. Mitchell lost its first 12-7 match on Friday before winning 2-1 on the Yankton Riverbats and 12-10 on Brookings Red on Saturday. Mitchell advanced with fewer races enabled Tie Breaker to claim the seeded n ° 4, against Harrisburg Donly, who shot Mitchell 12-1 on the path of a possible state title.

Mitchell Sun Gold Sports landed in fifth place in its sixth year division below.   • The Sixth Year Mitchell Avengers team finished 1-2, with a 6-2 victory against Brookings Red and a defeat of 9-2 against tea Friday before falling from 17-0 against the Pierre Cobras to place the pool game.
  • In the fifth lower year division, the Mitchell Mad Dogs finished 1-2, beating Brandon Valley White 13-3 Friday, then falling 8-6 against Harrisburg and 13-12 against Rapid City Sliders Navy on Saturday.
  • In the upper division of the third year, the Mitchell Avengers finished 2-1 in the pool game but did not progress towards the championship tranche with four teams. The Avengers lost 9-2 against tea Friday before winning 9-7 on Aberdeen and 10-5 on Brandon Valley Black on Saturday.
