Welcome to another exciting edition of Purdue Boilermaker Football.
The guest boilers start their “worst team P4-team in 2024” in less than four hours, and I am about to go out on a member.
I guarantee you that this season will be better than last season!
In these uncertain times, a guarantee is not something to be taken lightly, but I make this iron promise as an estimated and highly respected co-management of a specific blog. Now, I cannot guarantee that it will be much better. Purdue is currently in the “stops digging” phase of reconstruction, but I plan a little climbing at the end of the season. Anyway, there is hope, and I assure you that the chances that Barry Odom is crying during a press conference is below the chances that our previous coach sells his McMansion.
When we reach the Big 10 part of the calendar, we will have more in -depth game previews, but the truth is that I have no idea what one or the other team will look like today. I’m not sure that the coach knows what the team will look like today. Purdue did not release a depth painting on Monday because coach Odom did not want it to be inaccurate, and I believe it. He is probably sitting in the locker room at the moment with a dry board, trying to understand the offensive line while I type this post.
Although we do not know how this thing will happen, Garrett and I have things that we would like to see, and we would appreciate that the coach Odom shared him with the team just before leaving on the field and then recognizing our contribution to victory with a play ball and the opportunity to search through the lost trash and found in the locker room.
My wife is currently harassing me to conclude so that we can head to the producer market, because something strange has happened in the past 25 years, and I guess I am old now? Anyway, I will postpone my existential crisis until it is finished so that Ledman does not go down in Georgia and do not break my leg so as not to go out in time (it is hard, but just and I need additional motivation).
What we want to see Purdue today.
So we go to an RPO, right? I need to see fast versions of Browne. Your RPO offense in short-yardage game games-vot-Big-Gains requires rapid release. In this, I also need to see tiles that can block an initial impact, in which I trust the living room during sewing at the moment. I want to see a rover or a safety bite on a game game so that the quarter-roam can read its keys quickly.
I am generally an indecisive person with regard to the concept of “keys to the game”, but Purdue really needs Browne to look decisive and have a quick exit on short roads. I think he has the tools to execute something just outside (ha) the concept of a traditional outdoor area, where a second-hander is sure the A-GAP. Then you can beat one of your TE, you can get an tilted route to the receiver on the exterior hash, you can check at Good Ol ‘Crazy Legs Mockobee. If Browne removes the ball on time and good receivers, I don’t see how they lose this game.
I need to see clean football. Last season, we were so caught in the process of trying to go beyond the other team that he did not seem to have practiced things such as blocking or taking the ball in a timely manner, or really all that you can build an offense. You cannot build a house without foundation.
I want to see Purdue align against a team with lower talents and hit them in the nose until they leave. I want Ball State’s defense to wake up tomorrow morning and feel bad about herself. I know that Purdue can make talent our friends of Muncie, but I want to see them physically dominate the melee line and undoubtedly leave.
I will leave the X and the O to Garrett. I want to see the offensive line push the face of the defense in dirt and not let them go up the whole game. I want to see the intensity, concentration and controlled violence.
This is much less a football chess match and more than one football fist.
I want to see the tenacity and the speed of fence. I want to see the patience of the secondary and our rover in a new defensive scheme, followed by the brute force of the defensive line and pure seconds (I missed those of last year, happy to recover them).
I want to see the boilers doing basic basic things correctly, and an easy victory will be won. I want to see a good deal associated with the balance between hesitation compared to commitment with corners and security.
Make them must fight above.
Make them have to get tired before our train keeps rolling.
I want to see each concept of “Coach Talking” that you can hear from a defensive coordinator, the week before a match, you should win in action.
I am with Garrett on this one. Just like with the offensive, this game is to set a tone. This tone is: “You will have to win it now.” Purdue did not win the other team last season. The calendar was demanding, but the teams used the boilermakers as a week of preparation for their next opponent.
I want the defense to make as much declaration against a team like Ball State as possible.
I need on -board defenders to define the edge.
I need the secondary not to lose the concentration and that someone drops twice by journey.
I don’t care about big things, and it’s unusual for me. Purdue should not have to settle against Ball State. They should go out, physically dominate the melee line and put an end to the game before half-time.
I want a pee football match plan with a big 10 execution and physical.
I could continue to list things, but I think you get the point, and my wife is now making frustrated sounds outside of my office.
Garrett and I are going to spend time in “The Feed” about an hour before kicking, talking about football and shooting the breeze. Do not hesitate to join us.
