Mark Dantonio of Michigan State Football is three victories to beat Duffy Daugherty’s record of 109 victories as a head coach of the Spartans.

- Mark Dantonio, the most winning football coach in the state of Michigan, directed the price of the MSU 2025 renown temple.
- Dantonio won three Big Ten titles and six bowl games during his 13 years as a chief coach.
- Basketball star Sam Vincent and four other Spartan athletes will also be inducted.
Mark Dantonio is the most winning coach of Michigan state History of football. And now he will add another victory to his historic heritage of the Spartans.
The school announced its class of six members at the renowned temple of 2025 on Monday, June 30. The list is directed by Dantonio and the former basketball star Sam Vincent, who played with the Spartans from 1981 to 1985 before starting a seven-year NBA career.
Four other Spartan athletes join Dantonio and Vincent: Tony Keyes (male football), Kori Moster (women’s volleyball), Caroline Powers (Women’s Golf) and Nick Simmons (male struggle).
The six will be inducted during a ceremony on Friday September 12, one day before Msu’s home match against Youngstown State on Saturday September 13.

Mark Dantonio – Football Coach (2007-19)
Dantonio went 114-57 during his 13 years as coating of the Spartans, making him the most winning coach in the history of the program. He also won more than three Big Ten titles and six Bowl games, the two records among coaches in the history of the program.
Dantonio was appointed to the temple of renowned university football on January 8, 2024 and to the pink Bowl Hall of Fame on December 31, 2024. He led the Spartans to a Rose Bowl 2014 victory above Stanford and an appearance in the 2015 university football playoffs.
In a press release, Dantonio said that his induction “embodies the heritage that we built together in Msu. Together, we” dreamed of big “and that we did not just make the story – we were one of them.”
Sam Vincent – Male basketball (1981-85)
Although it is not as impactful as the legend of Spartans, Magic Johnson, Vincent wrote his own chapter in MSU records, becoming one of the most decorated basketball players in the history of MSU.
Vincent was appointed All-American in his last year and ended his career ranked third of all time by scoring Msu, just behind his brother Jay. He also led the Big Ten by scoring in 1984-1985, placing 23.7 points per game when the Spartans had made their first appearance at the NCAA tournament since 1979.
Vincent played for seven seasons in the NBA and was appointed head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats for the 2007-08 season. His coach career spread to G-League, International Play and Basketball Africa.
Tony Keyes – Male soccer (1966-68)
Keyes, a Jamaican originally, played a decisive role in the Spartans winning their only two national championships in male football (1967-68), while helping the Spartans with three consecutive appearances in the final match.
The double All-American is still the top scorer in the history of the Spartans, with 56 goals scored during his three-year career.
Kori Moster – Women’s Volleyball (2011-14)
Moster is a triple All-American who holds the career record for the program for Digs (2,218), a figure which is also third of all time in the history of Big Ten.
Moster also helped Spartans reach Sweet 16 in the consecutive years, underlined by a victory in the second round against the national defending champion Ucla Bruins in 2012, his first season as captain.
She will become the sixth volleyball player to be inducted at the MSU renown temple and the first to play in the 2000s.
Caroline Powers – Women’s Golf (2009-13)
When Powers ended her four -year career in MSU, she had the record of all time on average at 74.26, winning the price of the player of the year Big Ten in 2013.
This 2013 team equaled ninth place in the country, the best finish for the program. Powers also led the Spartans to consecutive Big Ten championships in 2011 and 2012 while completing his senior season as a classified female college golfer n ° 30 golfweek in the country.
Nick Simmons – Men’s Wrestling (2001-07)
Simmons was a quadruple All-American in his career for the wrestling of Spartans and ended up to third place in the country in 2007. No other Spartans wrestler was appointed Quadruple All American since Simmons.
Simmons won the Big Ten titles in his weight division in 2005, 2006 and 2007, launching from 125 pounds to 133 pound class in 2007. He went 211-0 in his career to Williamston High School in Williamston, Michigan, and served as a substitute for American Olympic teams 2008 and 2012.
